During 2020 all NCI stations closed for two months at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. On re-opening most stations were single-crewed for the rest of the year.

49596 06/05/2024 NCI Cape Cornwall NCI observed a RIB apparently no-one on board. HMCG informed, and two yachts reported to be close by. yachts asked to investigate,, but AWLB tasked, which located vessel. Kill cord in place, fishing , gear on board, and plotter revealed it had come from Brittany. French said they had been looking for vessel, as the crew had fallen overboard, but rescued safe and well.
