20th October 2018. Hengistbury Head NCI were delighted to recently receive a visit form Daniel Winter, HMCG NMOC Maritime operations Specialist and NCI Liaison for the South Coast.
Dan hadn’t seen the lookout since the boards had come down and the refurbishment had been completed. He was both surprised and delighted by the progress that had been made in such a short space of time and said: "It has been an absolute pleasure to have been involved with the development of the Hengistbury Head Lookout in becoming a new National Coastwatch Station. The team from NCI have demonstrated how hard work and commitment to a project can return such wonderful results. The new Lookout will provide HM Coastguard with an even better coverage of our coastlinesand a greater working relationship withour partner stakeholders. The driven enthusiasm ofthe NCI Team to keep this transformation moving forward has to be admired and it’s great to see the new lookout operational again“.
The Hengistbury Head team greatly appreciated this vote of confidence from HMCG National Marine Operations Centre.
