NCI observed General Cargo ship drifting 'not under command' - engine failure. Island ferry contacted NCI re. situation, and it was decided to inform HMCG. CG aware. NCI asked to monitor.
Emergency crew on its way, and casualty dropped anchor. NCI stood down, situation under control.

National Coastwatch watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility.
