 NCI RAME HEAD - HOW TO GET THERE.

 FROM TORPOINT:

Take the A 374 to Antony then turn left onto road signposted to “Millbrook”. Follow that road to the T junction with the B3247. Turn left past Tregantle Fort then right turn on to unnumbered road signposted to “Freathy” (Military Road). Continue past Freathy to junction marked “Polhawn Fort” turn right onto the higher road past Penmillard Farm to the next T junction. Turn right then take the next right fork signposted to “Rame Head Car Park”. Follow the road to the large car park on the right. NCI Rame Head Lookout is in the large white building next to the tall Coastguard radio aerial. 

FROM THE WEST:

From the A38 (Trerulefoot Roundabout) take the A374 through Polbathic then right onto B3247 signposted to “Crafthole”. In Crafthole turn left and continue past Tregantle Fort to right turn signposted to Freathy then follow the route in 1 above. 

Note: Do not use Satnav otherwise you will end up being led down some roads/tracks that will take you longer than the routes above!

Currently almost 60 National Coastwatch stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteer watchkeepers around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Filey in North Yorkshire. 

National Coastwatch watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility.
