The Calshot Tower NCI Station is located at the north end of Calshot Spit close to, and looking down on, Calshot Castle. It is within the grounds of the Calshot Activities Centre which offers public car parking (automatic number plate recognition payment system) and public slipways for boat launching. The CAC provide a licensed Cafe and Toilets within the large Sunderland Hangar.

Unfortunately, because the top of Calshot Tower can only be reached by a long series of ladders, it is not normally possible to offer public access to the NCI Station Operations Room. During the Coroavirus emergency no public access is possible.

To Contact the Operations Room: there is an entry phone at the Tower entrance; or by phone: 023 80893562; or VHF channel 65 (call sign: Calshot NCI).

About

Currently almost 60 National Coastwatch stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteer watchkeepers around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Filey in North Yorkshire.

National Coastwatch watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility. They are trained to deal with emergencies offering a variety of skills and experience, and full training by the National Coastwatch ensures that high standards are met.
