WESTERN BOAT SHOW A GREAT SUCCESS FOR NCI

23rd July 2018.  The Western Boat Show took place in Bristol this weekend and the NCI were there with our exhibition trailer.

The Western Boat Show and Bristol Harbour Festival took place over the weekend of 20th to 22nd July and proved to be a splendid success for NCI in promoting our activities and how we do it. This year the NCI was the organiser’s preferred charity with our logo on wristbands and our trailer designated as a useful meeting point. The glorious weather drew an estimated crowd of over 250,000 visitors to the festival and boat show at Hannover Quay. This ensured a constant stream of visitors to our trailer as we were in a prime location within the site.

It was noticed that the most popular attraction on the trailer was the map showing the location of all the NCI stations with most of our visitors happy to talk to members of our team. There were many favourable comments made about the trailer and a great deal of interest was shown by the other exhibitors. There was even a serious approach about opening a station near Bristol and Avonmouth. Our presence at the Boat Show provided great publicity and raised public awareness of our activities.

NCI Trustee Tim Colquhoun said “Both 2018 shows at Liverpool and Bristol proved a great success for NCI. The weather on both occasions obviously helped but the stand positions were absolutely right. The success of our representation at the show was entirely due to the superb help from the NCI volunteers who crewed the stand. This year they came from some far flung outposts! The readiness to lend a hand made my organising task considerably easier and I pass my most sincere thanks to all those who participated. “.

The NCI trailer will be at the Southampton Boat Show 14 – 23 September
