NCI HENGISTBURY HEAD AND ROTARY CLUB HOLD A LIVING ADVENT CALENDAR EVENT

20th December 2021. The local community supported the volunteers from the National Coastwatch Institution station at Hengistbury HeaD in their Living Advent Calendar event.

A spokesperson for NCI Hengistbury Head said” What a great Christchurch Living Advent Calendar event we held yesterday. Starting on Christchurch high street selling raffle tickets, calendars and cards whilst gratefully accepting donations before moving onto the Christchurch Rotary Club’s Advent event at The Boathouse. Entertainment was provided by Sarah’s Sixth Form Sax Group who played lots of our Christmas favourites before those wonderful raffle prizes were drawn. We have a lot of people to thank for yesterday including the Rotary Club of Christchurch for inviting us to be one of their chosen charities, KAMM Civil Engineering (Adam McCormack) who was our sponsor for the event and donated £500 to our Station, The Boat House (Simon Bennett) for hosting the event and providing mulled wine and mince pies, Sarah’s Sixth Form Sax Group for keeping the entertainment flowing and every single one of you lovely people who donated, bought raffle tickets and calendars and turned out to support us at The Boathouse - so many that not everyone could get into the indoors area. And last but by no means least, our volunteers and those from the Rotary Club of Christchurch who gave up their time to help marshal people, sell tickets, rattle donation pots etc. We couldn’t have done any of it without all of your help and support. The provisional tally of money raised from the event comes to a whopping £1345.98. It just goes to show what amazing things can be achieved when a community pulls together. Thank you!”
