NCI CAISTER AT THE BRUNDALL BOAT SHOW

20th May 2019. Volunteers from NCI Caister represented the National Coastwatch Institution at the Brundall Boat Show in Norfolk.

The volunteers from Caister NCI set up their stall at the Brundall Boat Show on Saturday where they were able to display the new NCI 25th anniversary promotional material which attracted a great deal of interest. There were many boating enthusiasts wanting to know more about the NCI giving the team the opportunity to explain the charity’s role as ‘Eyes Along the Coast’ and how they could contact us on VHF channel 65. Several visitors to the stall also showed an interest in becoming volunteer watchkeepers. The Caister team also used the opportunity to raise much needed funds and apart from the tombola, Senior watchkeeper Linda Atkins had a lovely display of crochet animals and sea creatures she had made and our friend Gladys had knitted lots of ‘little people’ to accompany them. Everyone on the team had a really enjoyable day and made a lot of new friends.
