Amanda Wain was born in the West Midlands but has lived in the East Lindsey area of Lincolnshire for the past 20 years. Educated to degree level, Amanda previously worked in front-line NHS Services for some 10 years. She has also enjoyed successful engagements in PR, security and sales management. Amanda sits as a Councillor on Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea Town Council, and is a Trustee of Meridale Hall. Amanda lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds, with her husband and three dogs and has two grown up children. In the little time when she is not working, Amanda enjoys fly fishing, cycling and swimming. Amanda’s new role will see her raising both much-needed funding as well as awareness of NCI, working alongside the Stations, Trustees and other National Officers.

About

Currently 56 NCI stations are operational and manned by over 2600 volunteers keeping watch around the British Isles from Fleetwood in the North West, through Wales, to the South and East of England to Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

NCI watchkeepers provide the eyes and ears along the coast, monitoring radio channels and providing a listening watch in poor visibility. They are trained to deal with emergencies offering a variety of skills and experience, and full training by the NCI ensures that high standards are met.
