ALAN RICHARDS AWARD AND PRESENTATION TO LESLEY SUDDES AT AGM

29th April 2022. At this year’s Annual General Meeting, Deputy Chairman Ian Whalley was pleased to announce the winner of the annual Alan Richards Award.

After reminding the meeting that the award was in memory of former National Coastwatch Institution Chairman Alan Richards, Ian explained that this year’s recipient had been chosen due to their resilience in overcoming anti-social behaviour and other issues by relocating to a more suitable and secure location. Ian called upon Terri Richards to present the Alan Richards award to NCI Canvey Island. The pair of Nikon binoculars were accepted by Station Manager Grahame Harris and Insurance Officer Paul Bennett.

Ian then asked Terri to make a second presentation. Former NCI Chairman Lesley Suddes had stepped down from her Trustee role and her colleagues on the Board of Trustees presented her with an engraved glass Bonbon dish as a mark of their thanks for all that NCI had achieved under her dedicated leadership.
